Family Reunited With ‘Lost’ Shi Tzu, Heroic Man Takes On Global Dog Torture

Not long ago, a dog named Kobe escaped from a yard in Springfield, Virginia. It was not long before someone saw the animal and decided to capture him before driving away. Kobe’s owners, Donald and Jeannie Smith, were thrown into despair; the two thought that their Shih Tzu-Maltese mix had been kidnapped and would never be seen again, according to a report by Life with Dogs.

Nevertheless, the person that took the loss hardest was the family’s 23-year-old daughter, Miranda, who suffers from Down Syndrome. Immediately following Kobe’s disappearance, the Smiths called the police and distributed flyers to make a strong effort in locating their lost pooch (similar to the one in the tweet below), according to Fox 5 DC News.

The family took the flyers to the local PetSmart, where they received permission to post them. While at the store, the family requested that employees keep an eye open for their dog. Luckily, fate offered the forlorn family an amazing gift.

While the Smiths were in the store, a high school teacher and neighbor to the Smiths showed up with Kobe in his arms. The teacher reported that he brought the animal to the store in hopes that they would “be able to scan him for a microchip” and identify its registered owners. Lucia Warren, another family member, spoke to the media about the happy ending.

“It was a happy-ever-after moment like you’ve never seen before.”

One of the happiest outcomes of this event was Miranda Smith’s reunion with her beloved dog. Elated to her core, the happy woman spoke about the surprising discovery and her happy emotions.

“He’s my buddy. We’ve got him now.”

Recently, Buzzfeed shared a fascinating video about the story of Marc Ching and his Herculean efforts to stop animal abuse around the world. Ching’s primary focus is with Asian countries, where the practice of torturing dogs is believed to make their meat taste better.

Ching is even willing to place himself in danger by traveling to slaughter houses to capture video of the awfulness that occurred there. Ching’s ultimate goal is to compel other countries to understand the horrors of what they are doing and do more to prevent animal torture.

Furthermore, Ching hopes to end the trading of dog meat on the black market and transport all dogs back to the US, where they can find forever homes.

Ching is the founder of the Animal Help and Wellness Foundation. According to its website, the company is a “non-profit organization focused on rescuing and rehabilitating severely abused animals. It specializes in abuse and neglect cases. Staff members rescue dogs, “provide full rehabilitation services and then work to find them perfect homes.”

Ching is also the owner of the PetStaraunt, a company living up to its tagline, “If you won’t eat it, why should they?” The company has been feeding dogs a proper diet that is tailored to help them grow and stay healthy.

Further, Ching is also the driving force behind the Animal Hope and Wellness Foundation. This non-profit organization focuses on rescuing and rehabilitating animals that have been victims of abuse or neglect.

The video (shown below) posted on Buzzfeed shows the lengths Ching is willing to go to save animals in need. Warning: The captured footage is graphic, and some may find it difficult to view. However, it is an insightful look into the dark world of animal torture.
