If Danner is found guilty, he could be put behind bars for up to three years in Illinois.

He could also be ordered to relinquish any household animals and could be banned from living in a home with pets in case it all starts again.

The months-long investigation ended in the man being indicted for allegedly having sexual contact with his two pets.

Danner is facing two Class 4 felony counts of sex with an animal.

His criminal history includes only minor traffic offences and seven citations for failure to vaccinate pets for rabies.

Danner was being held at the Peoria County Jail on $35,000 bail.
